Online Business

You have a product to sell or a service to offer, and you want to put your information on the Internet and get your business up and running in a week. Impossible? Not if you know the way to do it. We’re going to show you the way to get your business on the Internet and running in a week’s time.

1. Start off with a website that draws visitors

 SPhoto by Saxoji

Let’s face it – if people don’t visit your website, they won’t know what you have to offer them. The problem is that very few people who visit websites do anything about it. They take a quick look at the website and then they are gone again without taking any action. The sad fact is that less than one percent of visitors to websites do anything about it. They don’t bookmark the websites, they don’t contact you, they don’t make a purchase, and they don’t subscribe to your newsletter. Chances are, once they leave they won’t be coming back again. So your website has to have something that really catches their eye and makes them stand up and take notice.

When you go to a website that is offering either a service or a product, what makes you keep going back there? Well, one thing that people like to know when they are paying for a product or a service is that the person that they are buying it from knows what they are talking about. After all, if you are advertising your babysitting services, you want to show parents that you know what to do in case of an emergency.

Every company has them – employees with bad attitudes who make the work environment uncomfortable.  They cause problems, make everyone miserable, and basically make the workplace run less efficiently. So how do you deal with these people? How many chances do you give them?
Problem employees can be hard to approach because they already are causing problems. But when they are affecting the people around them, and the customers, it’s time to do something about it.

First of all, take the employee aside. It could be that they are just having a bad day. There may be things going on at home that they aren’t comfortable discussing. Before you decide that an employee is a ‘problem’ employee, find out if there is an underlying cause.

Logistic Management

In any business, customer service and logistic management is the most important thing. After all, customers are the backbone of business, and without customers there is no income. So here are some tips on how to improve customer service and to keep your customers coming back for more.

1. First and foremost in customer service is communication

Communication is the most important thing in customer service, and is the first step in making your customers wants to come back to your company again and again. Ask customers how their experience was first, and then cite any problems and note those areas where the company did well. Before you delve into your sales pitch, find out what the customer wants. They will appreciate that you took the time to think about their needs.

2. Go the extra mile for your customers

Customers are always impressed when someone exceeds their expectations. Just ask a mother who has gone to a fast food restaurant with a crying baby and two young children in tow. She won’t soon forget the employee who offers to carry her tray over to the table for her. Or when someone orders a pizza and there aren’t any drivers available, the owner of the pizza shop delivers the pizza himself. Its little things that will keep your customers coming back to your business and recommending it to the people they know.

When you are looking for a web host for your e-commerce site there is a lot to take into consideration. If you are looking to make money online then of course you need a reliable and secure web host. It is always good to research each web host that you are interested in and compare all prices as well as benefits to each company before making your final decision.

Before you even start looking for a web host you first need to figure out exactly what requirements you have. They could include:

  • Bandwidth
  • Disk Space
  • How many email accounts you need
  • FTP ability
  • Technical and customer support
  • Shopping cart

Your e-commerce site is going to require basic features and when comparing web hosts you need to make sure that it has that availability. Not only that, but you need to know that they include the benefits you need in one lump payment so that you will not be paying for each payment separately.

 sPhoto by Shift Lock

Even in this day of modern technology, when sending an email is very commonplace in business communication, many people still prefer to use the time tested tradition of communicating through business letters. Unfortunately, many people have forgotten the basics of using business letters to communicate, so this guide has been written to help remind everyone of the effectiveness of a well written business letter.

There are two things to remember when writing a business letter, and these two things can mean the difference between a successful business transaction, and your letter being disregarded.

Proper Spelling and Grammar

Often, when spelling and grammar comes up, the dreaded English class comes to mind. But contrary to what was thought back in high school, spelling and grammar was not taught simply because our teachers like to see us squirm and fill our papers with red marks, but to help us to be ready in the business world.

 sPhoto by Olivier Charavel

It is often said that the first impression is the last impression. If you are looking out for a job, or even are trying to jump from one job or another, the resume is your first impression, so you should also try to make it worth being your last impression.

A good resume is one of the only things that decide whether you go to the ‘In’ door or the ‘Exit’ door. The resume is basically a mirror of yourself. Apart from being a brief and frank inventory of your skills, your achievements and your ambitions, the very way a resume is written speaks volumes about the person in question. Here are a few tips about writing that cracking resume which will doubtlessly give you an edge over the countless resumes flocking to that particular job you have been aiming for.
