Healthy Shiny Hair
Healthy shiny hair is known to increase confidence and sexuality in both men and women, so many of us envy top models and actors with perfect hair, yet we do nothing to to improve our own hair, and we all know dull flat hair looks terrible and is a major turn off for our partner or prospective date.
Most people just don’t know how to look after their hair, children are not taught essential grooming skills at school, and most of us don’t have a hair dresser in the family.
The following quick tips are guaranteed to give you healthier, shinier hair and boost your sexuality.
Diet is Important
Start with a nutritious diet, being healthy isn’t just about minimizing disease or going to the gym, a healthy diet also helps you look and feel great. Your hair needs essential minerals such as iron, zinc and copper to maintain its strength and enhance color and shine. Your scalp also needs looking after, and plenty of vitamin A, B, and C are needed. Vitamin E is also known to help with shine, which is why so many shampoos include it, however, it is always better to include vitamin E into our diet where it can do the most good, at the hair root.
Drink plenty of water, at least a liter per day, eat food that contains lots of protein, for example regular servings of fish, red meat, and cereals.
Don’t forget to add lashings of fresh vegetables to every meal, and snack on pieces of fruit between meals.
Washing Your Hair
Theories abound on how often you should wash your hair if you’re serious about maximizing your hair’s shine. Some say every day, others every 2nd or 3rd day. The jury is still out on this since many top models have their hair washed and prepared every day. How you wash your hair however, is a matter of accepted fact.
Rinse your hair prior to washing, this removes loose dirt and dust that could damage your hair while washing.
Lather the shampoo in your hands first, this prevents tangling your hair which is known to damage the hair strands and reduces shine.
Apply the shampoo to your scalp and massage it gently into your skin and the hair roots. Rinse off, then apply conditioner, but this time condition all the way to the hair ends.
Finally, rinse off in colder water to close the cuticles giving an all day long shininess to be envied.
Drying and Brushing
Hair dryers are one of the biggest obstacles to shiny hair, simply because so many people don’t know how to use them correctly. Did you know your hair is at its weakest while wet, and special care needs to be taken not to burn the outer surface of the strands when using a dryer. Move the dryer frequently, and don’t let it get too close to your hair. Stop blow drying when your hair is still slightly damp and let nature do the rest.
We mentioned above that hair is weakest when wet, brushing your hair will cause more damagewith wet hair than dry, you’ve been warned. Brushing your hair needs to done carefully to avoid pulling or stretching the hair strands. Try to avoid damaging the follicle by keeping the brush bristles away from your scalp.
Following these tips requires a little more care with your hair, but it’s worth it when you look in the mirror and see healthy shiny hair cascading around your shoulders, and you’ll be sexier as well.

September 29th, 2007Not sure you can rub vitamin E into your scalp anyway. Vitamin aid to the body comes from within. I wish manufacturers would stop making wild claims about potions, lotions and shampoos containing Vitamin A.
