BBC Shows Available at iTunes

TV programs from BBC such as Life on Mars and Little Britain were recently made downloadable from iTunes digital store. This means that Apple technology had found another way to keep its avid users hooked up to their iPods. This latest feature from iTunes had established BBC as the very first broadcaster from UK to make its television programs available using the download service from Apple.

Aside from the above-mentioned BBC programs, Torchwood and Spooks can also be purchased per episode in UK. Newly- aired shows such as Ashes to Ashes are set to appear in iTunes digital store after they are made available for viewing on the free iPlayer service of BBC. Apple’s iPlayer had been marked very popular. In fact, it had been extremely phenomenal.

Reports had shown more that 3.5 million programs downloaded within its first couple of weeks since after its official launch on December 25. Simon Danker of BBC Worldwide had stated that they want to provide their audiences numerous options wherein they can watch their favorite television programs from BBC . With the number of people who are now choosing to use their iPods to watch their favorite television shows, avid followers of BBC can now also choose to watch these shows anywhere they want and wherever they are.

Enabling popular BBC television shows to become available and downloadable from iTunes digital store was another key to BBC Worldwide’s goal of bringing content out towards the largest and widest range of audience possible. This was the statement released by the corporation with regards to this latest news. This is a big leap for BBC because of the number of people who love using their iPods for music, videos and other multi media applications.

Furthermore, BBC network had set specific plans with the regards to the launching of a joint on-demand content service together with ITV and Channel 4 towards the latter part of this year.

    I stil remember listening to BBC on very big radio in those days and now bbc can be viewed or listened whereever i go and truly technology has made the lives of common man easier. Apple is also really impressing me every now and then with their new innovations, for example this move!
