Cadbury Schweppes who is famous for Dairy Milk Chocolate and Trident Gum is seeking to increase its prices since the costs of production are set to go up in 2008 by 5-6 percent.

The chocolate company released a comment stating that there was a 9% decline in its annual profit as a result of the increase in cost of production. This decline is estimated to cost $1.3bn. Cadbury, as of the present date, is working on the spinning off of its American drinks. The revenues at Cadbury’s confectionery products had grown in 2007 by 7% as the firm had reported.

This is claimed as the best performance of the business in 10 years. In the UK, however, revenues for the confectionery business went up by 5%. This increase had been assisted by an ad campaign promotion for the Dairy Milk brand as well as the re-launching of Wispa bar. Cadbury Schweppes confectionery is expecting a growth in its revenue by 4-6% in this coming year.
