A report in New Media Age tells that the online electronics retailer will start its music service in October. It’s, indeed, quite delightful for music labels who consider that Apple’s iTunes service has a monopoly on web music downloads.

On yesterday, 7 digital announced that it has become the first online store in the UK to offer 100% MP3 tracks for UK audience. In a statement, 7digital’s CEO said that he was happy about Amazon joining of the music download brigade as it would help to open up the MP3 market.

“Now people will definitely have more to decide on instead of 800 pound Apple’s iTunes gorilla.”

It is interesting to note that NMA also tells that they are under good authority to mention that MySpace Music couldn’t reach the UK by the early next year.

This new ad-funded music service from Amazon would feature free downloads and streamed music tracks from Amazon. Currently, three major music labels can be seen on board while EMI is in the negotiations stage still.

When views on Nokia haptikos tactile touchscreen technology were published by RedFerrert, we had only few details about the way things would work.

Now this Nokia’s out-and-out application for that technology has became general and have more details about that astonishing touchscreen tech.

The whole surface area feels sturdy and sleek when protrusions are blush through the surface of touchscreen without applying any current but when voltage is given ,the bumps emerge from the surface to somewhat great extent and offer the feel of tactile essentials o a touchscreen. The delusion of a tactile feedback is obtained with the control of some parts of the touchscreen when the protrusions are emerged.

The protuberances have been developed with the stretched out elements which increase according to the touchscreen and a transparent fluid filled compartments have been used in these protuberances with a translucent elastic foil cover.

Under this tech we can control every actuator independently that offers the possibility to develop an exit increased surface abrasive areas on each and every part of the touchscreen with choice.

A thin and transparent tactile feedback layer has been applied in it and it is not visible to the user when applied at the LCD and touchscreen or incorporated in the plane of touchscreen.

The rest of work is an art of tuning and activation of software to make a credible delusion of tactile emergence and activities.

Nokia already has working experience of haptikos used touchscreen keyboard and is somewhat difficult to operate on drag and navigation features.

We can hope that haptikos will be prepared for a prime time as well on that very time when Nokia has its own S60 multi-touch UI rolling out.

By selling Mac desktop knockoffs, Florida-based Psystar has defied challenged Apple’s no-cloning rule. Rack-mount servers that have the ability to run Leopard Server operating system have been introduced by Psystar and it is a clear-cut defying to Apple’s Xserve system.

The OpenServ 1100 planned as a 1U server and the OpenServ 2400 as 2U system and both these systems have been launched this week. According to the company, both are well-matched with various operating systems like Windows Server 2003 and 2008, CentOS, Mac OS X Leopard Server and Ubuntu Server.

After lauching its Open Computer Mac Clone two months ago, Psystar soon introduced another version that was named as OpenPro and it was shipped with an option of operating systems like Windows Vista, Windows XP, Ubuntu Linux, and Apple’s Leopard that is also called Mac OS X 10.5. The similar configured Apple-branded computer costs around $ 2,000 while this system has been priced at $805.

No public comment on Pystar’s mutiny has been made by Apple yet. According to Apple’s Leopard license agreement, third-party installation and sales has not been allowed.

On the other hand, Pystasr is quite vocal in regarding marketing intents of its products and vigorously claiming about low cost of the systems that comes as quarter of Apple’s systems.

There are dual Intel Xeon quad-core processors, double gigabit Ethernet and 16GB of memory in these latest Psystar systems. The storage of 1100 model is up to 4 TB and 6 TB of 2400 model. They price around $ 1,599 and $1,999 respectively.

With an improved metal frame plus “virtually silent” V2 box, the line of Mac clones was upgraded by Psystar during the last month. It was also announced by the company that it was going to ramp up its production capabilities. Support for its system is also being offered by Psystar.

To point out damage like a bruise, epoxy system is used in the new technology
Inspired by the self-healing capabilities of animals and plants a new technology may make it possible for the plans to point out even the most diminutive holes to mechanics upon landing besides allowing the damaged planes to heal them while on the fly. If this technique becomes successful, in the future wind turbines, aircrafts and even spaceships may posses fixed circulatory systems with a thick synthetic paste that will enter into these holes and cracks and then under ultraviolet light it will incandesce to point out the damages like a bruise.

Plastic-based composites that are also known as fiber-reinforced polymers will be used as a particular help for the system. These polymers are getting quite popular among aircraft, wind-turbine and automotive manufacturers who use this material as protective layers of skin.

Ian Bond, an aerospace engineer at Bristol University in the United Kingdom, says in this connection “The weak point is that they are quite prone to damage that is mostly can’t be detected through the eye and the users of composites have to spend a lot of time in their efforts to detect this damage and they also get worry about the coming crucial times when the damage grows”.

Bond and his colleague started to balance the defect with biological systems inspired hollow glass fibers. The Engineering and physical Sciences Research Council is backing the research.

Black carbon fiber composites are not supportive to a color change and magnetic nanoparticles would be supplementary to the epoxy and because of newly formed epoxy plug a handheld magnet-based scanner may prove useful to detect changes in their virtual distribution.

Other scientists have moved to infrared camera that identifies the flaws below the surface, ultrasonic waves to monitor the expansion of flaws that become cracks and optical fiber sensors that counts defects and measures temperatures in the composite structure in real time.

At a gathering of thousands of astronomers all around the world, the scientists that played a pivotal role in NASA’s three Great observations found a big opportunity to present their stuff this week. A break in “the case of the missing dwarf”, an extensive shot of star birth in our own galaxy and a second look at supernova’s leftovers all were included in that good stuff.

In all these three cases it wasn’t the matter that results were just the result of one team working on its own. To develop a whole that was greater than the collection of its part, findings from many instruments and telescopes were shared jointly.

What happens when telescopes join forces, this week’s space pictures help to show all that.
By using NASA’s Spitzer space Telescope two teams shared their data to form a unique portrait of the star-making area in Milky Way.

Into a mosaic of the Milky Way’s immense plane that had 2 degrees of height and 120 degrees of width more than 800,000 pictures were joint together .To get the complete brunt you have to look at the portrait by using a zoomable image browser or have to place it on a wall as its very much detailed and shallow.

Exter, Bond their co-workers, kept watch on two stars by using ground-based observations from the Cerro Tololo observatory in Chile , the South African Astronomical observatory and the Anglo-Australian Telescope in Australia.

The stars were found rotating more slowly than they were expected and they appeared larger than their expected masses. The observations suggest that to become red giants the stars are following their course and thus they wouldn’t liable to form the ring.

Private testing of Windows 7 is poised to begin at any time to ship it till late 2009. To pass over Windows vista all at once or to wait for Windows 7 in its place, many business users are mulling over it.

It’s not surprising at all that Microsoft is recommending users against taking a pass on vista. Microsoft is supporting business users to migrate to Vista sooner as it is a part of a new white paper to influence business users who are considering when and whether to shift to Windows Vista.

The white paper “The Business Value of Windows Vista: Five Reasons to set up now” just repeats the business features Microsoft developed into Vista and emphasizes some of the new installed tools and case-study examples of the companies who moved to Vista, otherwise, it doesn’t comprise numerous new data.

According to Lee Nicholls, Director of Global Solutions with Getronics, “One can’t disagree with Microsoft’s compatibility warning”. Global Solutions with Getronics is Microsoft’s incorporate partner and sells a lot in the financial services and manufacturing industries.
Nicholls adds that “Based on what Microsoft finishes up providing in terms of new migration and operation tools, there can be still less compatibility in XP and Windows 7”
There can be a big gap between Windows XP and Windows 7 but from Vista to windows 7 this gap is fairly minor. Even if this Windows 7 is a superset of windows Vista, yet it is not something worth waiting for” Nicholls said.

Microsoft also gave a timing argument to induce business customers to have an upgrade now. In this connection, Microsoft also pointed to a Gartner Group’s report “Don’t Skip Windows Vista entirely”

It’s being recommended by Getronics to customers that it will not be worth spending their whole IT budget to pay to extend their support for Windows XP.

RAMALLAH, West Bank is causing anxiety doughnuts and grapples with PC system, the employees at G.ho.st, an Internet get underway at this juncture, are holding their weekly organization conference with the coworkers on the other side of the Israeli Palestinian partition. Israeli workers, on the computer screen were talking with their Palestinian associates in Ramallah.

They are trading thoughts through a videotape connection that is connecting the West Bank office with single in Israel in the initial combined technology endeavor of its brand between Israelis and Palestinians.

The objective of the G.ho.st is very straight and lucid. The staff is very diligent and technical in the policies of business entrepreneurships. Therefore, the employees of the G.ho.st are very optimistic and hopeful regarding company’s future. Web based implicit PC that lets them entrance their desktop and documentations from any workstation with an Internet connection. G.ho.st, marked “ghost,” is diminutive for Global Hosted Operating System.

Palestinian official workers are badly required the services of the Israeli arm forces to get enter into Israel and attend the conference in Modiin. But the fact is reverse that the Israelis people have been constantly prohibiting by their own regime from entering into the regions of Palestinian. That is the most stunning reality being happened in Israel.

Dr. Schreiber, an industrialist who has before now constructed and put up for sale two other start-ups, thought that he would like to generate G.ho.st after seeing the control of software operation on the Web. He moreover said that it was the right time for him to come together his skills and trading desires with his societal members and generate an industry with Palestinians.

Shareholders have deposited $2.5 million into the corporation until now, a self-effacing sum. Provide work for Palestinians means the money goes beyond the wages for Palestinian programmers are regarding a third of what they are in Israel.

To make a product at a small scale for the diminutive Palestinian technology community means, “politics take a backseat to business”. That was commented by the Yusef Ghandour, a venture manager.

Rex Jameson, a software engineer, is working for robotics firm Sarco Inc.in Salt Lake City, the firm which is under contract with the U.S. army to develop robotic suits. He is helping to assess the 150-pound suit’s possibility for the soldiers of coming times. This suit can sense every movement of the wearer and enhances this movement instantly.

The time is not far when soldiers will wear this suit during war but presently engineers are working on applications like loading of cargo and maintenance of heavy equipment. Under a two-year contract worth around $10 million Sarco is developing a technology for Army which will be ready for field tests during the next year.

But there are two problems one is cost of these suits and other is battery life and to make this technology practical, the manufacturer will have to cut its cost and battery life is to increase. The life of current battery is just 30 minutes. According to some expert this technology can only be successful in combats if its battery life is increased to hours.
Such kind of technology is often seen in the realm of comic books and movies but now there are some evidences that indicate the time is not far when this technology will be easily accessible. A recent movie “Iron Man” covers the same subject in which a wealthy weapon designer develops a high-tech suit to fight against the evil.

The chief designer of the Sarco suit Stephen Jacobsen says that everyone wants to be a superhero and becoming superhero is all about enhancing the capabilities of a human.
The U.S. army has been supporting exoskeleton research since 1995 but still practical suit has not been developed. It is worth mentioning here that Sarcos has also been developing robotic dinosaurs for Universal Studios’ “Jurassic Park”.

The time has come when robot-suited soldiers will unload heavy missiles and other weapons from helicopters and repair their heavy vehicles and tanks that get out of work at some awkward location in the battlefield.
