Google is planning to digitize almost 100 newspapers as the company has partnered with all these newspapers. The scanned copies of these newspapers will be available online.
Thus, the users could see the entire pages of the newspapers as they were when newly printed.
According to Google’s Marissa Mayer, “Google is about to introduce a new form of content for the web and this is really huge for us.”
The feature was announced at the TechCrunch50 conference in San Francisco by the vice president of the company’s search products. Click here to read more »

Have you got your copy? Well, it takes less than 30 seconds to download and takes another 30 seconds to install.
Google Chrome looks nice with its neat and clean appearance and so far Google’s decision to show the browser tabs to the top of windows is concerned, it’s not odd at all as we are quite use to them under the very name of address window in IE and Firefox. However, you have to push mouse cursor a little higher to close the tab and that’s why the insufficiency of mouse gestures is somewhat frustrating.
The good and the bad
Though there are already enough information, Google just wrapped up its press conference where the company told in details why did they create a new web browser. You will have related details soon.

Quick one after another launch of Google App Engine on Monday which is also a proposal to open Google’s computing communications to third-party developers — Google has also opened a new online store that has been named as the Google Solutions Marketplace, a gateway for functions that create use of Google’s application programming interfaces.
The online marketplace, a comparatively small development in itself, is an added sign of Google’s rising interest in the venture. Google branded again JotSpot — a business focused Wiki Company it obtained last year — as Google Sites. And on Monday, Salesforce.com — which defined business software again with its demanded model — is set to publicize that it will begin reselling Google Apps to its clients, as reported by the TechCrunch blog.

If you know anything about the internet, you know that Google has become a super power over the past couple of years. Not only do they dominate the online search world, but the same thing holds true of online advertising. Of course, a company like this never slows down. Next in line: a joint venture with Cleveland Clinic which will bring Google to the forefront of the electronic health records industry.
Just last week, the two companies announced that they have joined together for a PHR pilot program that will be tested be a small group of patients at Cleveland Clinic who have been using another system.

If you are even semi-familiar with the internet, you have probably come across Google AdSense ads. These blocks of ads are located on millions of web pages, and believe it or not, they do serve a purpose. For site visitors, these ads offer another portal for information. On the other hand, webmasters who run these text based ads on their site earn money with each click that they receive.
Once again, Google has taken the initiative by implementing video ads. These ads work much like the aforementioned text ads, with the main difference being that they play a video instead of sitting motionless.
If you are interested in running Google video ads on your website, you will want to start out by visiting the Google AdSense Help Center. You will find information on how to implement video ads, as well as answers to frequently asked questions.

Google reports that it has repaired a security issue in its Orkut social networking site that allowed a worm to propagate among at least 400,000 Orkut users.
“Google takes the security of our users very seriously. We worked quickly to implement a fix for the issue recently reported in Orkut. We also took steps to help prevent similar problems in the future. Service to Orkut was not disrupted during this time”, said one of the Google’s official spokesperson in an email response.

Orkut, Google’s first initiative at social networking, was launched in January 2004 and named after its creator and Google employee, Orkut Buyukkokten. The site is reported to have more than 67 million registered users across the globe. Rout however lags behind the most popular social networking websites MySpace that boasts 110 million users.

Goggle is planning to introduce a new innovative storage service in near future. Many experts view this future as the “Virtual Hard Drive” from Google. An article recently published in the November 27 issue of the ‘Wall Street Journal’ explained various facts about strong probabilities of such an innovation by Google.

The ‘Wall Street Journal’ cited few people’s accounts who are closely related with this information, put forward a claim that Google is close to announce an innovative service that would help users store all their word-processing documents, digitized music, video clips, and photographs on servers.
This service will most probably facilitate users to shift their digital data on to the Google’s servers. This ‘Internet Cloud’ approach of Google will also provide a specifically dedicated ‘search tool box’ in order to facilitate users to reach at their own data. The facility will be extended from multiple computers and all handheld devices with a password. This will be a new approach as the user will be able to access its own data from anywhere. In fact it will break traditional set up that compelled user’s accessing through their machines only.

Up until now, Google Video’s bigger video size limit has made it the leading video website for larger, higher quality videos. However, YouTube just announced a new windows desktop uploader that will allow the users to upload a large amount of videos each time. The file size limit has also been raised a whooping 900 megabytes (900 MB), which brings it to 1 gigabyte (1GB) per video. Even though the limit has been raised 10 times the previous amount, the maximum duration of each clip remains at a mere 10 minute – so it looks like YouTube will not be competing too much with Google on the longer videos. This response seems to be in conjunction with a competing video site, Vimeo, which recently allowed High-Definition video uploads.

Even with YouTube’s setbacks on their video length limits, it seems that many people would still rather split their videos just so they can put it on the world’s largest video website – and it is possibly due to the higher exposure they will get. This new limit on video size should bring even more people to YouTube and for the existing members; this will further justify the reasons to stay a loyal user.

Microsoft has recently purchased 1.6 % stake in Facebook for $240 Million. A surprising fact here is that Facebook, about 3 ½ years old, doesn’t have annual revenues of even $200 Million.

This is believed to be Microsoft’s response to Google’s recent major acquisitions of YouTube and DoubleClick Inc. However, it turns out that the other side of the coin has a lot to do with Microsoft internet advertising plans. Also, this investment by Microsoft just goes to say that social networking – dating, friendship, photo sharing, etc. is valuable and is here to stay.
It’s amazing to note that Facebook, which started in a dorm room in Harvard University, has been valued at $15 Billion, thanks to Microsoft. One more important thing to note here is that Facebook is the second largest social networking website, after MySpace, which was acquired by News Corp. a couple of years ago, for $580 Million.
Microsoft is relying on Facebook’s reach and popularity, which it believes can help them sell more ads online, something Google is better than them at. In June 2007, online advertising revenues of Microsoft stood at $1.84 billion, an annual rise of 21 percent. During the same fiscal year, Google’s online advertising revenues rose to $13.3 Billion, a good 64 percent rise.
