Apart from Sony Corp for TV and films Youtube has signed deals with almost 11 other partners to considerably increase legitimate content amount on the site.

The video hosting giant also announces that it’s going to pair up with Disney to show some of their ABC and ESPN offerings.

Some advertising from YouTube will be involved in this new content that might be given along the video or in its running time. Google has hinted for some payment demands from some premium content as the search giant seems to do its best in monetizing its well-known site.

You may find only a few offerings like The Adams family in the beginning, but according to the search giant its considering signing new deals to provide more and more content in the coming days.

“In the coming days, we can expect the prime time slot as a very highly user-programmed, says Shiva Rajaraman, YouTube senior product manager.

It’s quite evident that Google will try to leave no stone unturned in the Hollywood sphere, as the increasing popularity of things like BBC iPalyer and US Hulu is quite worrisome for it.

In such a bid, YouTube has also banned all those submissions that show guns and knives in a positive way.

The new rule has been implemented because of an investigative report from The Times’ that noticed some failings in YouTube’s monitoring system.

A spokesperson for Google, who owns the website said about the new ruling: “The particular concern is over those videos that show weapons to threat or bullying the people and this area is really needed to be addressed.

It’s not happening first time that YouTube changed its submission rules .During the last week, YouTube posted an update to community guidelines on its official blog in which change of policy related to videos that had hate speeches, violence and other content was announced.

These new guidelines are somewhat confusing for some as well as they are asking whether the rules also apply on pro military videos.

According to YouTube, it has to face problems in vetting video before they go on the site.

In a quick search, you would find that there are around 78,000 videos on the site that relate to the word ‘gun’.

Top video-sharing web site “YouTube” announced its expansion plans and offered its latest mobile specific features for its users this week. These new features of ‘You Tube’ include an added access to a large catalog of mobile videos. Most of the features like this were available as the desktop versions only until recently.

Mobile devices users will find these new additions at ‘YouTube’ and would be able to choose from tens of millions of videos, according to the company. However, users are required to have a ‘streaming-capable mobile phone device with 3G technology’. This is a necessary requirement for matching the compatibility with the high-speed data access over cellular networks. Many of such popular cellular networks including the U.S. carriers Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, and Verizon Wireless have all rolled out 3G networks capable of supporting ‘streaming capable multimedia phones’.

Users of the Apple iPhone have an added advantage with the in built facility of this type. Apple’s popular iPhone comes with a preloaded YouTube application. The iPhone on the other side has no support for the ‘3G Technology’. Because of this inability, the video-streaming experience can be sluggish at times for the iPhone users. However, the streaming becomes much faster over Wi-Fi connections.

In addition to these expanded mobile offering, YouTube also have been enabled to have an access to their accounts, favorites, videos, channels, and directly upload and share content from mobile phones. You Tube has also facilitated its users with an extended ability to rate and post comments on the go.

With an alternative option to users,’ YouTube for Mobile’ is also available to its users as a free downloadable Java application for a limited number of mobile phones. This is going to become an altogether different and more interactive experience, said YouTube.

At present, the ‘beta application’ is only supported on ‘Java-enabled J2ME MIDP2 mobile phones’ with streaming video capabilities. YouTube says that such type of mobile phone devices include some very popular brand models like the ‘Sony Ericsson K800’ and W880, and the ‘Nokia E65, N95, N73, 6110 Navigator, and 6120 Classic’. YouTube has also entered in to partnerships with some other popular brands including Helio, LG Electronics, Motorola, Nokia, and others in order to enable the users with its video-sharing application on mobile phone devices.

The youth-oriented mobile virtual network operator and service provider ‘Helio’ launched a YouTube application on its ‘Ocean mobile phone’ in the month of December last year. ‘Helio’ also provided a comprehensive YouTube experience to its subscribers. It facilitates its customers and existing subscribers to capture video on the ‘Ocean’. The user can now easily upload the captured videos to YouTube.

Up until now, Google Video’s bigger video size limit has made it the leading video website for larger, higher quality videos. However, YouTube just announced a new windows desktop uploader that will allow the users to upload a large amount of videos each time. The file size limit has also been raised a whooping 900 megabytes (900 MB), which brings it to 1 gigabyte (1GB) per video. Even though the limit has been raised 10 times the previous amount, the maximum duration of each clip remains at a mere 10 minute – so it looks like YouTube will not be competing too much with Google on the longer videos. This response seems to be in conjunction with a competing video site, Vimeo, which recently allowed High-Definition video uploads.

Even with YouTube’s setbacks on their video length limits, it seems that many people would still rather split their videos just so they can put it on the world’s largest video website – and it is possibly due to the higher exposure they will get. This new limit on video size should bring even more people to YouTube and for the existing members; this will further justify the reasons to stay a loyal user.

Apple users, you are not left behind. The company also said that a Mac version of the new uploader is being developed.

People are hoping that a time limit boost will be introduced as well, and this would put YouTube even closer to becoming a monopoly for online videos. Almost everything else a video sharing website needs is already present, and it is just a matter of time before the giant will completely dominate the market. Google’s acquisition of YouTube only means that they won’t have to worry about having Google Video suffer from these actions.
